Dr. Emma Slater DVM BSC hons co-op Graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary Hospital in 2005 with first class honours. She received the award for the highest excellence in small animal surgery in her graduating class. Dr. Slater, who is often known as Auntie Emma to her clients, prides herself on ensuring that owners understand their pet’s medical status and all treatment options so that each family can chose the best possible course of treatment for their pets.
Dr. Slater started Halifax’s only independent small animal veterinary house call service in 2012, this service will be encorporated into 4 paws 24 hour Veterinary Hospital so that we are able to continue to offer this valuable service to our clients. Prior to attending Veterinary school, Dr. Slater graduated from Dalhousie University as their first ever graduate with a Bachelor of Science with combined honours and co-op in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology. She also completed post graduate studies in aquaculture through Dalhousie University and the National Research Council of Canada. Dr. Slater also worked in medical research before attending Veterinary school. Her rich background in science, research, and her extensive experience working as a veterinarian allows her to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to each and every appointment.
Dr Erin Fuller grew up in Toronto with her parents and younger sister. Over the years she acquired many animals including dogs, cats, reptiles and horses which ultimately lead her to a career in veterinary medicine.
Dr Fuller attended the University of Guelph where she completed her Bachelor of Science with honours and later her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. Dr Fuller has always had a special interest in emergency medicine and surgery. Her avid belief in the importance of the human-animal bond allows her to provide empathetic and compassionate care to all of her patients.
In her spare time Dr Fuller enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, their two dogs and three cats, and with her Quarter Horse, Milo.
